Wearing a Juliet Costume brings to mind one of the most touching love stories, and sure the most famous – Romeo and Juliet. My grandchild cannot decide this year, if she wants to go to Halloween as Juliet in a ballroom costume or as Bella Swan out of Twilight. The Twilight Saga seems to touch her more, but wearing a ballroom costume or renaissance costume is like the better solution. So I had to tell her the story of Romeo and Juliet, and here are some details I have found. My son helped me with the publishing online.

But first I have to show you the beautiful costumes, that are available today.

Juliet Child Costume

The Juliet Child Costume on the left side has a classic look. There are three sizes available. I like the deep blue velvet look. The Costume on the right (“Maiden of Verona”) is more like ceremonial. Could imagine someone walking with this in a castle or in a ballroom. Its also available for adults.

The two “princess-like” costumes are really cute and the favorites of my grandchild. She likes to play dancing in a ballroom. The left one – a ballroom costume – with a pale yellow and the right one with a beautiful gold and purple renaissance inspired robe, thats also available for toddlers.

Romeo & Juliet — The Story

Romeo and Juliet is the story of two young lovers whose love was meant to fail. The two teenagers pursue their love for each other, although their famlies have been fighting against each other for decades. But the two feel mutual love at the first glance at a party in the house of Juliet. They confess their love in the famous balcony scene: Juliet confesses her love to the stars without knowing that Romeo hides himself in the bushes below. No longer able to control himsef, Romeo admits that he feels the same. So the next day Romeo and Juliet are secretly married. On the day of the wedding A cousin of Juliet starts a fight with Romeo, and Romeo kills him. He is then banned from Verona and the Father of Juliet wants to marry her with another man. In despair Juliet drinks a poison that makes her sleep, and she plans to escape from the burial vault when she awakes. But Romeo hears abaout her death. He kills himself lying next to his sleeping wife. When moments later Juliet awakes, she sees Romeo dead. In despair she kills herself with Romeos dagger, seeing no reason left to live.
This tragic event makes the two families that they agree to never fight again.

The story has been adapted many times. Famous are the musical version West Side Story and the story updated to modern times but with the old text in the film Romeo + Juliet (1996)
